Notice to Fort Lyon Canal Water Users

            The Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA) and Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) are evaluating potential impacts to agricultural producers following the recent discharge of untreated sewage into the Arkansas River.

            If you used water from the Arkansas River or a ditch drawing from the Arkansas River for irrigation on or after August 25, 2026, please contact the CDA Produce Safety Program and complete the Irrigation and Crop Assessment Form. The form requests information regarding crops, water sources, irrigation practices and dates, and related water testing.

             Producers should contact CDA directly for current guidance regarding their individual circumstances.

All information subject to change if river flow increases or decreases.

 To all shareholders:  Pueblo Waste Management had a raw waste leak into the Arkansas River on Wednesday and Thursday.  Please notify your irrigators to use caution and avoid contact with the irrigation water if possible.  We are pulling water samples and will update as we know more information.
